MATCON INC. Workmanship Warranty

Effective from the date of substantial completion

Part One

5-Year Workmanship Warranty

Matcon Inc. stands behind the quality of its workmanship and provides a Five (5) Year Workmanship Warranty from the date of substantial completion of the project. This warranty covers defects resulting directly from the workmanship performed by Matcon Inc. If a workmanship-related defect is identified within the warranty period, Matcon Inc. will inspect the issue and, if deemed to be covered under this warranty, will repair the defect at no additional cost to the homeowner.

Warranty Coverage

This warranty applies solely to defects arising from the installation and workmanship performed by Matcon Inc.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage caused by homeowner neglect, misuse, abuse, or lack of maintenance.
  • House settling, structural movement, shifting, expansion, contraction, or foundation movement.
  • Cracks in drywall, paint, caulking, grout, concrete, or other materials caused by normal building movement.
  • Water damage resulting from roof leaks, plumbing failures, foundation issues, or other causes outside of Matcon Inc.'s control.
  • Damage caused by acts of nature, including but not limited to storms, flooding, fire, wind, lightning, or extreme weather conditions.
  • Products, fixtures, appliances, materials, or equipment covered under separate manufacturer warranties.
  • Damage or deficiencies resulting from work performed by others after project completion.
  • Changes in appearance due to aging, fading, shrinking, warping, or natural material characteristics.

Manufacturer Warranties

Any products, fixtures, appliances, or materials supplied as part of the project may be covered by separate manufacturer warranties. Matcon Inc. does not provide additional warranties beyond those offered by the manufacturer and is not responsible for manufacturer defects or product failures.

Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim, the homeowner must notify Matcon Inc. in writing and provide reasonable details regarding the issue. Matcon Inc. reserves the right to inspect the reported deficiency before any repairs are authorized.

Limitation of Liability

This warranty is limited solely to the repair of covered workmanship defects. Matcon Inc. shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, indirect, or secondary damages of any kind. This warranty is non-transferable unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Matcon Inc.

Part Two

1-Year Complimentary Follow-Up Service

At Matcon Inc., we understand that homes naturally settle and adjust over time, especially following a renovation. To help ensure your project continues to look its best, we offer a complimentary follow-up service for one (1) year from the date of substantial completion. During this period, homeowners may contact Matcon Inc. to request an inspection of minor cosmetic deficiencies resulting from normal settling and seasonal movement, including:

  • Minor drywall nail or screw pops
  • Small drywall seam cracks
  • Minor paint touch-ups related to repaired settling cracks
  • Minor caulking shrinkage or separation

This service is intended to address normal adjustments that may occur as materials acclimate and the home settles following renovation work.

Homeowner Responsibility

It is the homeowner's responsibility to notify Matcon Inc. of any concerns within twelve (12) months of the project completion date. Matcon Inc. does not provide automatic follow-up inspections and will only perform this service upon request by the homeowner during the applicable period.

Exclusions

This complimentary follow-up service does not cover:

  • Structural movement or foundation issues
  • Significant cracking caused by excessive settlement or shifting
  • Water damage or moisture-related issues
  • Damage caused by homeowner neglect, misuse, or lack of maintenance
  • Damage resulting from modifications or work completed by others
  • Product defects covered under manufacturer warranties

All follow-up work is subject to inspection and approval by Matcon Inc. and must be requested within twelve (12) months of the project's completion date. Following the one-year follow-up period, Matcon Inc.'s Five (5) Year Workmanship Warranty remains in effect and covers defects resulting directly from the workmanship performed by Matcon Inc.
